Gary Oldman spoke to a packed house following a screening of his new film "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" on Dec. 8 at ArcLight Cinemas in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Based on a John le Carré novel, the film was previously adapted into a popular 1979 British miniseries starring Alec Guinness as spy George Smiley.

Oldman said the role was the type that inspires what he calls "kitchen acting": "It's the kind of part that's so good, you find yourself practicing your lines in your kitchen without fully realizing it." The film is now playing in New York and Los Angeles.
