Weekend Box Office: 'Madagascar 3' Tops 'Prometheus'

Animated family fare bested sci-fi action adventure this past weekend when "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted," the latest installment in the DreamWorks franchise opened with $60.4 million overtaking Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" which debuted with $50 million. Charlize Theron, who stars in both "Prometheus" and the third highest grosser "Snow White and the Huntsman," achieved the rare feat of headlining two top ten pictures.
