The third installment of the "Men in Black" action-comedy franchise managed to outmuscle "Marvel's The Avengers" for the top box office slot, earning $70 million over the extended Memorial Day weekend. Despite coming in second, the superhero spectacle continued to perform powerfully, raking in $47 million in its fourth week and $524 overall, becoming only the fourth film in history to earn a half a billion in total. The others are "Avatar," "Titanic," and "The Dark Knight."
