One hundred and seventy Los Angeles County high school students?part of 520 students across the state--have been selected as California Arts Scholars. The award recognizes students who have been selected to attend the month-long California State Summer School for the arts program called InnerSpark, now in its 17th year. Approximately 50 percent of the students receive financial assistance to attend the program, held at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, July 12 to Aug. 9.
