Win a 'Warrior' Premiere
One of the fall films I most enjoyed is Gavin O'Connor's "Warrior," set to be released on Sept. 9. I won't pretend to be unbiased; a good friend of mine is in the film and I've been following it's journey to the screen for about two years now. But isn't it nice when your friends are actually in good projects? Such is the case with "Warrior," a film I thoroughly enjoyed and believe could earn Nick Nolte an Oscar nomination and should make a major star of Joel Edgarton. And after yesterday's review in THR, I see I'm not alone in loving this film.

A family drama in the guise of a fight film, the movie stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgarton as estranged brothers who both end up battling in a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition. Hardy's Tommy is a Marine hiding a secret, while Edgarton's Brendan is a teacher and family man. Both turn to fighting for different reasons, and both will have you rooting for them. Nolte plays their alcoholic father seeking redemption, and it's a heartbreaking turn made perhaps even more effective by the way it mirrors the actor's real life history.
