at the Falcon Theatre
Leave it to the irreverent and in-your-face Troubadour Theater Company to put the "Christ" back in "Christmas." Well, in this case, a smart-mouthed son of God and a whole bunch of other holy rolling spirits—not to mention farm animals and bandits and belly dancers—who take the stage in the company's latest holiday offering. The tunes of rocker David Bowie provide the soundtrack for the classic tale of the poor little orphan boy with a special gift for the Christ child. You know the one—that sensitive young artist who presents the newborn king with a rousing drum solo. His exploits have been pa-rum-pum-pum-pumming in our ears around the holidays for nearly 50 years. And the Troubies have put it all together in freewheeling style to create a crazy, fun free-for-all that's family-friendly, too—if the kids, and parents, can handle an outrageous bit of icon-bashing.
