Here are the most common questions we receive concerning your Backstage subscription.  If you cannot find the answer, please contact our Customer Service Department

Types of Subscriptions

Backstage offers two types of memberships: 

Actors: If you are an actor, singer or dancer, you can pay to subscribe to Backstage. With that, you can create a multimedia resume; upload your headshots, video and audio reels; search our casting notices; apply for roles; sign up for casting alerts; look through our Call Sheet database; and manage your submissions. We offer a variety of more specific tools that are described in more detail later in this section.

Actors can also subscribe for a free daily email newsletter (www.backstage.com/newsletter/) or sign up for our free message board (http://bbs.backstage.com/groupee). Note:  The forums are a separate registration than your Backstage subscription.

Casting Directors:  If you are looking for talent for a project, you can register as a casting director with Backstage.  As a CD, you can pay for a casting notice or search our extensive Talent Database with thousands of actors. Purchasing a Subscription

Backstage offers a variety of subscription options.  You can buy either online only or print and online.  You can purchase six-month or one-year subscriptions, or pay for a month-to-month subscription.

Online subscriptions should activate immediately. For print subscriptions, it can take a few weeks to receive the first issue.

Managing Your Actor Account

Once you have purchased your online subscription, you should be able to access your account immediately.  You create a login and password during the purchase process.

At the top of Backstage, you will see two links near the upper right corner.  If you are not logged in, the links will be JOIN and LOG IN.  Once you log in, the links will change to MANAGE and LOG OUT.  

To review your account information, click on MANAGE.

On the first screen, called Account Settings, you will see your name, which you cannot change.  (Speak with Customer Service to change it.) You will also see places to update your email address and password. 

The second page is Subscription Info.  Here you can see what kind of subscription you have and when it will expire. If you want to change your subscription, please contact our Customer Service department by visiting www.Backstage.com/Contact.

On the third page, Payment & Shipping, should appear your name and the mailing address associated with your account.  You can also see your credit card information, partially disguised.  Here you can edit your address or update your credit card information.  

If you have additional questions, we list the email address and phone number for customer service.


Changing Your Password

Once logged in, click on the MANAGE link at the very top of the page.  You will be directed to Account Settings.  You can click on Edit next to Password.  You will be asked for the current password, as well as to type in the new password twice to confirm.



Updating Your Mailing Address

Once logged in, click on the MANAGE link at the very top of the page.  You will be directed to Account Settings.  On the right side of the page, click on Payment & Shipping.  On the Settings page, click on Edit on the right side of the page. Update the information as needed.  Any field with a red asterisk next to it is required. You can also update your credit card here.


Updating Your Email Address

Once logged in, click on the MANAGE link at the very top of the page.  You will be directed to Account Settings.  You can click on "Edit" next to Email.

Once logged in, click on the MANAGE link at the very top of the page.  You will be directed to Account Settings.  On the right side of the page, click on Payment & Shipping. 

On the Settings page, click on Edit on the right side of the page. Update the information as needed.  Any field with a red asterisk next to it is required. You can also update your mailing address here.
