In Jonathan Tolins’ witty “Buyer & Cellar,” at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, an impish Michael Urie plays a struggling actor who gets an unusual job working for Barbra Streisand.
For some actors, music is a large part of their success.
Streisand, who won her first Oscar in 1968 for “Funny Girl” hasn’t sung at the ceremony since March 28, 1977, when she performed “Evergreen” the love theme from “A Star is Born.”
The Film Society of Lincoln Center will honor Streisand with the Chaplin Award at their April 22 gala.
Opening night of “Grace” on Broadway, John Hurt’s West Coast stage debut, advice for actors in New York, the L.A. International Children’s Film Festival, and a Barbra Streisand biography are what we’re looking forward to this week.
