Career Highlights/Additional Info:

  • Ever since bitten by the bug in his high school days, B.K. Dawson has been making his presence known from the stage to films, voice-overs, and commercials. A man of many assets, energy, and characters, B.K. has been known to be highly adaptable to multiple genres such as playing the star baseball player, Joe Hardy, in Damn Yankees, the wise and knowledgeable Detective Porfiry in Crime and Punishment, to the light-footed and quick-witted dance machine Richie Walters in A Chorus Line. Graduating from Cab Calloway of the Arts in Drama, B.K. was personally trained by his mentor David Pody who encouraged and prepared B.K. for the world of the performing artist.

    In 2004, B.K. traveled to Arizona where he was personally selected by acclaimed drama professor and artistic director of Southwest Shakespeare Company, Jared Sakren to train under not only under himself but for teachers and actors such as Sarah Hickler (Emerson College) and Richard Baird. During his time traveling back to the east coast, B.K. has appeared in numerous stage performances including The Wiz, Into the Woods, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sly Fox, and Urinetown. In 2010, B.K. performed with Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre and trained with TV producer Robert Lewison and in 2012, performed with The Actor's Project NYC. B.K. continues to learn and study with many different acting coaches in New York City. B.K. has acted in multiple films such as, Turncoats, starring as the assassin Ghast Muldoon, A Menu For Murder, playing as a street punk, Ken Kenobi, appeared in a commercial for Beneficial Bank and JG Wentworth, entered into the Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl contest with the hilarious skit, Beware the Doritos Ninja, and in Boardwalk Empire season 4 in 2013.

    B.K. can be seen looking for or traveling to his next adventure out in the street of New York almost every day but always finds time to return home to Philadelphia to see his loving mother and his hyperactive maltipoo, Bam-Bam.
