Career Highlights/Additional Info:

  • Jonathan Stanley knew at an early age that he wanted to perform, spending countless hours as a child studying dance and performing magic for his friends and family. Born in Detroit, Jonathan’s parents knew first hand how tough the Detroit streets could be, so they enrolled him in Catholic school where he attended kindergarten through 7th grade. Spending most of those years as an altar boy proved influential for Jonathan, especially through the rough patches he would later encounter.

At age 25 Jonathan spent a summer in Los Angeles taking classes in pursuit of his dream of becoming an actor. After returning to Detroit, Jonathan started working as a personal trainer to pay bills, but soon landed a lead role in the indie film, “This Narrow Place,” which went on to win several film festival awards.

It was at the Naples International Film Festival that another filmmaker, hearing Jonathan’s intriguing back-story, recommended he write a movie about his own life. Thus, Jonathan began writing, mining the many struggles of his life, as well as those of close friends and family. He worked night and day to come up with the rough draft of the script “MISLED.”

Jonathan soon collaborated on rewrites with Scott Baldyga, a multi-talented artist of film, music and fiction, who also agreed to direct, and produce “MISLED” with Jonathan.
“Misled” had its World Premiere At the “Gasparilla International Film Festival” in
Tampa, FL in March of 2014, it opened to great reviews.
