Happy October! We’re working out the details in our relationships and creative pursuits after facing ourselves, our past and our limitations square in the face last month (one of the crazier Mercury retrogrades coupled with the relentless workload of a Sun square Saturn). Expel any residual tension and celebrate all you are in that first Full Moon of the month on Oct. 5tin fiery Aries.

While getting on the same page may take some negotiating and tolerance for the realness of life (Mars/Venus both in earthy Virgo at the start), three planets in social, air sign Libra will bring balance to love’s careful approach. The headlining cosmic news is Jupiter departing Libra on Oct. 10 after more than a year in this sign. The magic growth hormones bestowed by this lucky planet now germinate the waters of Scorpio. Wrapping up the relationship-themes and lessons of this past year now give way to the simmering depths of Scorpio material like the truth and nothing but the truth, animal passion, and transformation (look out for a preview of this energy around Oct. 26 when the Sun and Jupiter join). Not to worry though, Jupiter helps us keep our sense of humor no matter how profoundly we're pulled into our own personal dregs. Ultimately, we rise like the phoenix to do what we are born to do, with the people we are born to do it with. Keep. On. Trucking.

Read for your Sun and Rising Sign if you’re a believer!

LIBRA

It’s a full circle kind of month with the Sun returning to your sign for your birthday and Jupiter leaving. You’re likely in a far different place than when lucky Jupiter first entered your sign 13 months ago. You’ve grown by leaps and bounds and absorbed the cosmic goodwill, and this generous planet now moves on from your Sun sign and into the next sign of Scorpio. This doesn’t mean Jupiter won’t be aiding and abetting your pursuits, only shining his light in a different hue and a different sector of your chart. For Libra and Libra rising, this Jupiterian growth spurt will be affecting your 2nd House of earned income and earthy stability. Not too shabby. This can be quite nice for your bank account, as Jupiter in Scorpio and the 2nd House is all about transforming your earnings or even the way you earn money. Your hunger for the natural pleasures of life—food, drink, sex—may also increase, so move over to-do list.

It’s time to get in touch with what your body, not just your mind, needs. And some deep rest and personal restoration may be part of it if you can make room for a little conscious contraction. This is the kick-off month as Jupiter changes signs on Oct. 10. The New Moon in your very own sign on Oct. 19 would be a splendid time to make intentions that reflect this theme of getting back to the body, increasing your income, and being more conscious about the way you earn, receive and invest your resources. Oh! And you have Venus (love! relationships! Personal magnetism!) moving into your sign on Oct. 14 acting as some cosmic WD-40 to all things love and relating until Nov. 7. Never a bad time for headshots when Venus is near your Sun or on your Ascendant.

SCORPIO

Get ready Scorpio. In that once-in-a-twelve-years kind of way, lucky Jupiter (planet of growth, expansion, and opportunity) enters your sign on Oct. 10. As Jupiter will be hanging around your Sun, you are in the enviable cosmic position of growing your influence, not to mention being imbued with the cheerful optimism and go-with-the-flow sparkly adventurousness that Jupiter inspires. Now we’re still talking the passionate, sometimes seething and willful depths of Scorpio, so the year of Jupiter in your sign wouldn’t be complete without some nail-biting drama, enveloping emotions and deep, sexual bonding. Ultimately, this will be a fun ride and one you know how to navigate with aplomb. Think of it as an awakening.

It’s a big deal when Jupiter goes from “hiding” in your 12th House (where it was these past 13 months) and coming into your 1st House of self-expression (here until November of 2018!). Work it, own it. You’re ready to play a bigger hand this year and next, and it’s just the beginning. With the New Moon of Oct. 19, make some time to conjure up some positive vibes about how you want to grow in the next year. Anything around new beginnings, self-confidence and the power of personality to open doors has wings. Also, look out for the wonderful (dramatic, big, fun) string of days around Oct. 26 as Jupiter and the Sun join exact in your sign expanding, the world around you and hopefully giving you a reason to say YAHOOOOO!

SAGITTARIUS

There’s been some action in and around you, connecting you not only socially but giving you a few things to think about when it comes to your long-term plans. With the help of the Sun and planet of communication Mercury in charming Libra, you’ll have the magic touch when it comes to networking and reaching out to V.I.Ps. There’s something lucky around collaboration, especially when it comes to artistic pursuits with this energy as well. It’s a great time to send a press release and engage in all forms of publicity that announce your endeavor/project/roll-out plan. That, or just enjoy more time with friends doing fancy and pleasant things.

Jupiter, planet of luck, changes signs on Oct. 10, shifting the whole energy of the year ahead and placing a spotlight in your mysterious and existential 12th House. You might be on the precipice of a deep dive into your life and the nature of consciousness; questions like what does it all mean may start to loom. Anything that alights that part of your brain can be especially engaging during the time Jupiter awakens your inner psycho-analyst. Luckily, you’re a naturally curious and open-minded sign who actually enjoys learning about different philosophies so it might be time to invest in a meditation pillow as this will be a strong theme in the months to come until Nov. 2018 when Jupiter moves into Sagittarius. This is a year to clear your brain and old beliefs and connect with universal consciousness. You’ll have the mind for it and can be quite revelatory if you’re open to it and let “luck” come to you rather than chasing after it.

CAPRICORN

It’s probably been pretty nice with fancy pants Jupiter (the Elvis of the Zodiac) in your Career House this past year, giving you some moments to shine artistically and show the public a little more of what you’ve been working so doggedly toward. Now that you have more achievements under your belt (life blood for Capricorns), Jupiter has decided it’s best to move on and water the part of your life associated with friends and networking, dreams and long-term plans. You may be ready for a shift or just a deepening of a single commitment you’ve discovered really makes your soul sing. Be honest, what is it? Setting some intentions on the New Moon of Oct. 19 around your career’s future direction and strategy will have extra power.

In other news, Mars and Venus continue in fellow earth sign Virgo (for the first half of the month) giving you all sorts of head-turning chutzpah, and amplifying a need to get out more and seek adventures with adoring company. Things are going to start to get a little more social, not only because Jupiter will be moving into your well-connected Eleventh House, but Saturn is also wrapping up after its year sojourn through the umbilical remoteness of your 12th House. If you’ve felt a little like a loner, you’re on the way to coming out of it. Don’t underestimate the power of solitude and cut ties to drains on your energy, whether that be an addiction, person, or old, tired burden or behavior you carry around. When Saturn comes into Capricorn come December, you’ll be putting yourself back to together piece by piece so get clear on your commitments and learn the power of yes and no.

AQUARIUS

Relationships may have been interesting lately with both Venus and Mars in preternaturally specific and pragmatic Virgo. If there’s one sign you may not understand, it’s Virgo (although you would both do well to take pages from the other’s book once in a while). Come Oct. 14, Venus—planet of all things relating and romantic—will be speaking your language, coming into fellow air sign charmer Libra, joining forces with other planets already here in your House of Adventure. You’ve been busy expanding your horizons, dreaming up bigger possibilities and perhaps scratching that travel itch.

The bigger news, however, is that Jupiter (Luck! Growth! Opportunity!) is changing houses in your chart, meaning “luck” will come in a different tune and to a different area of your life, namely your Career House. All that work you’ve done in the past year will now come into more tangible form. The 10th House of Career is like the CEO sector of your life asking that you receive the proper title and pay scale and can see yourself as a leader.

 PISCES

Jupiter, planet of luck, is going to start spicing things up, gifting you in more obvious ways when it comes to travel and adventure. The avuncular planet was traveling through your House of Intimacy last year, perhaps asking that you dive more deeply into the wants, needs, and fears of your own soul—and having you confront yourself through the catalyst of other people. Armed with these newfound discoveries about what’s ticking inside of you, you’re ready to play more and let more of it hang out. Especially look out for the days around Oct. 26 when Jupiter joins the Sun and ups your capacity for joy and spontaneity. The fact that Jupiter is going from air-sign Libra into your own element of water will offer strong supportive beams so I’d guess you’re in for a lively one.

If you’ve been planning any big changes, synchronicities may predict that this coming year (Jupiter will be here until November of 2018!) is the time. Also, Halloween could be a good one for you, too. Maybe it’s time to be a little wilder as the Moon will be in your sign and join imaginative Neptune. You’ll have even more relief when stern, maturational Saturn moves out of your House of Career in a couple of months and leaves you with a solid sense of your aptitudes and ability to produce. The engine is definitely starting to roar, so make sure you’re using your stage voice and use that New Moon of Oct. 19 to shoot some wish arrows into the year ahead.

ARIES

There’s been no dearth of lessons around relationship and working nicely with others. The collaborative theme continues this month, I’d say more to the tune of your own enjoyment in the second half of the month when the lustrous, magnetic coupling of Venus and Mars move into your 7th House of relationship (Venus on Oct. 14 and Mars on Oct. 23). This means you’ll be in a good space for admirers and others stepping up and helping out more.

The big news is that after 13 months of being in your 7th House of one-one-one partnership, Jupiter is moving on to the 8th House of Sex, Death, and Transformation starting Oct. 10. If this sounds more intense than that other relationship house, it is. It’s like relationships 2.0. For Aries and Aries rising, this magical planet will be serving up a hot plate of soulful bonding, deep commitment (or the choice to make one) and perhaps a renewed interest in psychology, astrology or any of the “dark arts.” You’re ready to get under the surface of things, but because we’re talking Jupiter here, it will be in a more playful way. Your emotional bandwidth will expand and be more inclusive of the gristle of life. You might get a sense of what the theme of this transit is when Jupiter joins the Sun here on Oct. 26. Just remember the 8th House is still a sharing house as opposed to my way or the highway. But something may have to change form. You may be learning to take life less seriously by just dealing with it head on and realizing you only have so much control. And make sure to howl at the Full Moon in your fiery sign on October 5th.

TAURUS

Mars and Venus in fellow earth sign Virgo light up love affairs and continue to sprinkle fairy dust over creative projects and play of all kinds through the first half of the month, so lap it up! In other relationship news, Jupiter is moving on and will be affecting an entirely different area of your life after 13 months kicking up the good luck in your 6th House of work, service, and health.

Good luck comes packaged in partnerships, business or otherwise. The common ground being that these are partnerships of equals, with each person locked in eye contact and seeking harmony for the good of the unit. If partnerships have gone stale, it may be time to regenerate them by allowing them to change form in some way. It’s Jupiter in Scorpio after all, which loves to burn something to the ground so it can rise again. It appears this Jupiter cycle will heighten the role of relationships and the necessity for deep truth and passion in your commitments with others.  Whether coupled or single, there are some juicy opportunities ahead to join forces and create something better than you could on your own. Keep yourself open to receiving in a big way.

GEMINI

Your house of love affairs and creativity has been lit up and will continue to be in overdrive the first half of the month as the Sun and Mercury throw their weight behind your expressive sparkle and ability to heighten libidos. That New Moon in Libra on Oct. 19 will be a magical one for setting intentions around love and any gutsy projects you have in the wings. In addition to the Sun and Mercury, Jupiter has also been in the flirtatious 5th House for the past 13 months manifesting opportunities in the realm of the heart. He is now ready to move onto a different syllabus, the 6th House of work and health. It doesn’t sound romantic, but Jupiter is moving into saucy Scorpio so the passion meter is actually going up.It looks like this lucky planet will be bestowing gifts in the form of work opportunities and the clarity and commitment to accomplishing your personal goals. This could be around your mental and physical health or projects that require dogged determination. When Jupiter officially moves on October 10th, your tuning fork is ever more rigged to the pursuit of quality over quantity and you’re not afraid to cut the fat. Your list of non-negotiables whether that applies towards a relationship, work opportunity, or an acting studio is becoming laser sharp. You’re ready to open more up to your intuition and would do well

It looks like this lucky planet will be bestowing gifts in the form of work opportunities and the clarity and commitment to accomplishing your personal goals. This could be around your mental and physical health or projects that require dogged determination. When Jupiter officially moves on Oct. 10, your tuning fork is ever more rigged to the pursuit of quality over quantity and you’re not afraid to cut the fat. Your list of non-negotiables whether that applies towards a relationship, work opportunity, or an acting studio is becoming laser sharp. You’re ready to open more up to your intuition and would do well to exercise this growing superpower of focus and diligence. Consider setting the bar high and commit to accomplishing something that takes your attention to detail, as Jupiter will act as a cheering squad encouraging you to get ‘er done and commit with all your heart. It’s not so much about getting it right, but just knowing you have the ability to transform your day-to-day life by believing in yourself and your (very detailed) vision for your time and energy.

CANCER

A new cycle of growth begins Oct. 10 which, for Cancer (and Cancer rising), will be in your 5th House of Love Affairs, Creativity, and Self-Expression. If it sounds fun, it is. Not only that, but Jupiter is moving out of the air element and into the water sign of Scorpio which is a classically compatible energy. This is also the House of Children, so while it can be a “lucky” time to start a family, it is also about re-discovering your sense of wonder and passion for life.

And because Jupiter is in provocative, intimacy-seeking Scorpio, it can be a blessed year for carnal bonding. If you’ve never paired the action “to entice” with a line of dialogue, now may be the time (and Jupiter is here until November of 2018 so take your time). This can be the stuff of soap operas and if you’re attached, consider being honest about preferences to keep things hot and playful. Creatively speaking, it can also be a break-out period. You’ll be feeling gutsier as your appetite for joy and mischief expands. Another big theme for you this month and in the year to come is financial and emotional security. By really standing in your self-worth (North Node in Leo and your 2nd House of Income), you magnetize what and who you need that connects you deeper to your true self and that always feels like winning the lottery.

LEO

The month starts strong with warm gusts of energy from that fiery Aries Full Moon on Oct. 5 highlighting your courage and hunger for new experiences. If there’s something you’ve been tip-toeing around—Open mic? Improv jam? Submitting a piece of work?—you’ll be feeling your oats around that day. Jupiter changes signs (after 13 months in Libra) into Scorpio and enters your quiet 4th House of Home and Family. This benign planet’s most supportive vibes and storied good luck will most likely be manifesting in your closest quarters and with your dearest intimates. Invitations for self-nurturing and soul rejuvenation will sound especially nice and some good old-fashioned alone time may also be on the docket.

You’ll still be seen around town, especially after Oct. 15 when Venus migrates from studious Virgo into socially-insatiable Libra. We’re getting a hint of the tone of 2018 now, and for you to be all that you can be (which is A LOT), pay some attention to developing or strengthening personal rituals that keep you rooted and connected to your authentic self. Deepening this connection will inevitably affect the quality of your work. You’re ready to learn the true power of the inside-out approach. It may take some getting used to as Leos sometimes feel like they always have to be “on,” but it’s a good time to start experimenting.

VIRGO

The relief! A month without Mercury retrograde in your sign is a big improvement. Not only that, but you have the sexy coupling of Mars and Venus in your sign at the start of the month, so the drive to relate to others has been strong and the Universe will serve you up with opportunities to exercise that craving. One of the major changes this month is the migration of lucky Jupiter into a different sign and different house in your chart. After a 13-month transit in relationship-oriented Libra and your 2nd House of Income, the planet moves into Scorpio and the prolific terrain of the 3rd House. It’s like all things writing, communication, commerce, and correspondence get a giant cup of coffee. So even more than usual, you are hungry for new ideas and information and have an extra dose of good luck and energy when it comes to getting those words on the page and out into the world. This will be an insatiably curious time (Jupiter here until Nov. 2018), so load up on your podcast subscriptions and library cards. You’re also ready to have less “safe” conversations. A little poking and prodding may become food for your particular hunger. While you’re generally known for your refined taste and modest exterior, the Year of the Dog could also amplify your other reputation for having a sharp tongue. There’s more power and passion than usual behind your words, so have fun and share them wisely.
