Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. Although we make every attempt to verify castings before we hit publish, please ensure that you do your own research before firing off those headshots and Backstage links.

Gecko Ensemble, “The Wedding”
An exciting opportunity for two talented performers to become part of the Gecko ensemble, who has been working on their latest show, “The Wedding”, over the past 18 months. The show previewed in the spring followed by a short U.K. tour, and now they’re about to embark upon the second stage of U.K. touring this autumn and have been granted funding for an ambitious tour in Spring 2018. This will include a large programme of education and outreach activity alongside the performances.

They are looking to meet exemplary male and female performers who fit the following criteria:

  • Five years of professional
  • Experience speaking multiple languages (please give details of which languages in your application)
  • Dance trained (degree level or equivalent) or have been working as a professional dancer
  • An emotionally expressive performer with extensive experience of performing and touring

To apply for this opportunity, applicants must send an up-to-date CV, headshot, video footage of recent work, details of any upcoming performances (including shows at the Edinburgh Fringe this August), and a completed Equal Opportunities form.

Applicants must be available Monday 25-Sunday 30 September 2017 and Sunday 7 January-Sunday 11 March 2018.

Please send your applications to Pippa Fox at pippa@geckotheatre.com, and attach a completed Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form. The official deadline is Monday 4 September, but please submit your applications as soon as possible as they will be looking at them on a rolling basis.
