One of your 2018 Tony nominees spits on the stage before every performance. It’s his way of, as he puts it, preparing to “offer all of myself, opposed to just the parts that are pretty.”
Not all pre-show rituals are as eccentric, but that doesn’t make them any less crucial for a number of this year’s nominees, including LaChanze, Andrew Garfield, Hailey Kilgore, and Taylor Louderman, who all opened up about steaming, pineapple juice, and their other pre-performance musts.
