Career Highlights/Additional Info:

  • Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin is a Brooklyn-based playwright, costume designer, and performer who hails from Mountain View, California. She received her B.F.A. in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

    Her plays have been produced as part of festivals throughout New York City, and she is a founding member of Undiscovered Countries, a residency which produces a night of new artistic work monthly at Goodbye Blue Monday in Brooklyn. Kaela has also costumed plays off-off Broadway (including The Cherry Orchard at the 14th Street Y), at the NYC Fringe Festival (Phantomwise), and at New York University.

    Her performance experience includes work with Boxed Wine Productions and Shanghai Repertory Theater in China. She has performed her own solo show, Audrey on Audrey: Her Own Self-Written Autobiographical Obituary Written by Kaela Garvin, in several New York theater festivals.
