Margaret Muse Meredith, who acted in film, television, and theatre for more than 60 years, passed away March 6 in Los Angeles. She was 91.
The actor appeared in television programs such as Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents and later on Knott's Landing and General Hospital, where she worked for two years. She snagged film roles in 1958's Teacher's Pet, 1968's For Pete's Sake and 1994's Twogether. Meredith also acted in movies of the week on NBC and CBS, but her main love was theatre.

She was also a member of Theatre West and appeared in their 1998 production of Good.
Born in Dallas, Meredith's early interest in acting led her to attend the Dallas Little Theatre School where she met the school's director, Broadway actor Charles Meredith. The couple married in 1932 and performed under Charles' direction at the Dock Street Theatre in Charleston and the Vieux Carre Theater in New Orleans. In the late 1940s, they moved to L.A. where Meredith worked in local theatre productions, staged one-woman shows at country clubs, and snagged film and television roles.
Meredith is survived by her son Douglas, his wife Reva, and her two grandchildren, David and Casey; her sister, Florence Ahearn; step-daughter, Diane Voltz; and stepson Charles Melsing Meredith. A memorial will be held March 9 at 3 p.m. at Theatre West, 3333 Cahuenga Blvd. West, L.A.
