Relocating during COVID?
“Hi, friends! I’m just curious: How many people have relocated due to COVID, and what are your plans after? In March, I moved from NYC to a smaller market, just because I couldn’t afford NYC with no prospect of booking jobs. Now, I’m debating going back at all after the pandemic, and just trying to work in a smaller market, even after COVID. With no end in sight pandemic-wise, I’m starting to get tired of waiting on things to return to normal, and I’m considering just setting up shop in a different city that’s easier to live in. I LOVE NYC of course, but I’m just curious if anyone else was having doubts about returning to their pre-pandemic city or was juggling different factors when it came to relocating. What steps should a 13-year-old take to start acting?
“Hello,
“My Daughter is 13 and really wants to become an actor. She has only taken one acting class so she doesn’t have that much experience. We live in Pennsylvania and there are not many agencies around here. I want to help her, but I don’t know how to start. I don’t know how to find a good agent or really how to help her get started at all. She wants to be a serious actor (she tells me she wants to be like Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman!). She also said she wants to be in movies and maybe TV shows—not musicals/theater in general. She was a dancer so she is really flexible. She is 5’6” and she looks about 16.
