Web series: Worth it for actors?
“Everyone starts somewhere and nowadays the best way to get your stuff out there is to do it yourself. As an actor, when it comes to web series, is it a good idea? From a creator’s point of view, money is most likely an issue but that should not stop an actor or crew member from applying or even working on set. Creators have a vision and will do whatever it takes to tell their story (if their hungry enough). And maybe it will become an underground hit that makes it to the mainstream, god willing.
“But as an actor, it’s different. First, web series are made mainly with whatever means the production has, including the cast. What I mean to say is that most web series cast members are from each others’ hometown and are tight knit. Some ‘new’ actor coming in may not be so warmly welcomed. Secondly, Safety is a major issue. Aside from COVID-19 mandates for a vaxed cast and crew, what about basic safety precautions or contracts or pay?
“On the other hand, it would be great for your demo reels, a way to meet new and interesting people, make new friendships, and, if the planets align just right, create a project worthy of being made into a television series or movie. With that said, should I or anyone accept or even apply for web series jobs?” —StewartMarshall
Which modeling agency is best?
“Hello, everyone. My son is 5 years old and got selected by Future Faces NYC and Generations Model Management. I am new to the industry. Please advise which one is better to sign up with and is more legit. I would appreciate everyone’s assistance. Thank you.” —Mommyof2
AgentBlasters site?
“Has anyone used the service AgentBlasters? I’m on the hunt for an agent and always see ads for it but I’m not sure if it is worth the money/how helpful it would really be. If anyone has used it and has feedback, please comment!” —karencartwright
