Now Casting: A Production of ‘Matilda the Musical’ Is Filling All Lead Roles + 3 More Gigs

A Staten Island production of “Matilda the Musical” is seeking actors to play principal and ensemble roles, including the eponymous Matilda. Plus, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is casting background actors for Season 3, a music video needs talent, and an updated version of “Harold and Maude” is casting in Texas.

“MATILDA”
Spotlight Repertory Theatre is casting principal talent for its production of “Matilda the Musical.” A young female actor, aged 7–11, is wanted to play Matilda. Talent, aged 7–70, is wanted to play all additional principal and ensemble roles, including Miss Honey, Agatha Trunchbull, and others. Rehearsals will begin on June 3, previews begin June 19, and performances will take place from June 20–23 at Haugen Hall Theatre at Staten Island Academy in Staten Island, New York. “THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL,” WORKS APRIL 2
Season 3 of the hit Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is casting background actors. Talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted to portray comedy club patrons. Men must feel comfortable receiving an era-specific haircut and being clean-shaven for the day. Women must have natural-looking hair that is above the shoulder or talent must be willing to have their hair cut by the production. There will be a fitting on March 26 in New York City. Filming will take place on April 2 in the NYC area. Pay is $210 for 12 hours of work for nonunion actors and the SAG-AFTRA Background rate for union actors. Apply here!

“WALLS TO THE WORLD”
“Walls to the World,” a music video for record artists Petty Party, is casting talent. A male actor, aged 20–35, is wanted to play the lead role of Nathan, a young man working through grief therapy with the recent loss of his girlfriend and their future child. Two female actors, aged 20–40, are also wanted to play the role of Sarah and the grief therapist. The video will shoot for two or three days on April 5–6 and 13–14 in San Diego, California. “HAROLD AND MAUDE”
An updated, student version of the 1971 dark comedy “Harold and Maude” is seeking lead actors. Two actors, aged 16–35, are wanted to play the lead roles of Harold and Sunshine Dore. Additionally, a female actor, aged 35–65, is wanted to play Harold’s mother. Rehearsals will take place between April 8 and 21, followed by in-class workshops on April 22 and filming the weekend of April 26–28 in Austin, Texas. Pay is TBD with meals provided during filming.
