Want to know what’s in development this week? Several outlets have reported that an Anna Nicole Smith biopic is now in the works with Holly Hunter set to co-star. While many are excited about this new project, TMZ states that the television personality’s ex, Larry Birkhead, is “peeved” about the production. Here’s everything we know so far about this new film.

“Hurricanna”

The straight-from-the-headlines story of Anna Nicole Smith is heading to the big screen, Deadline says, as “Hurricanna,” a biopic of the model, actor, and television personality is now in the works. “Succession” star Holly Hunter is in talks to star in the film as Smith’s devoted therapist, Khristine, who “embarks on a 36-hour odyssey in which she unknowingly delivers the fatal blow.” According to Deadline, producers say the project will explore the “immense hurricane-like force that was Anna Nicole Smith and the fateful string of events that led Anna to destroy everything in her path, including herself and those closest to her.” “GLOW” star Betty Gilpin was previously attached to play the role of Smith but has reportedly had to withdraw due to scheduling conflicts, leaving the role of Smith currently unoccupied with no one currently rumored to take over the role. Francesca Gregorini (“Killing Eve”) will direct from a script by Rachel and Matt Sarnoff.
