Happy spring! The Sun, Mercury, and Venus have dried off from Pisces and entered the fast and furious sign of Aries. The first three weeks of April are prime time to start the projects you’ve been putting off and chase your desires. What felt daunting in March now feels like an exciting challenge. This rush of energy comes just in time for Pluto—the CEO of the cosmos—to go retrograde, making the entire month feel like we’re up for a yearly review. April 11, 16, and 24 could bring about power struggles with the people who make you question yourself. When we lash out, overload our schedules, or seek validation from gatekeepers, shame is often the root cause. Notice what you’re protecting or holding onto a little too tightly—Pluto wants you to loosen your grip.

The sun moves into Taurus on April 19, reminding us to take a chill pill. There’s a season to sow our wild oats and a season to wait and see what sticks—we can’t go full throttle forever. In the last week of the month, something breaks through, just not in the way we expected. Taurus season is usually the antithesis of chaotic energy, but the sun approaching Uranus will bring disruptions and strokes of insight. On April 26, the full moon in Scorpio illuminates our intimacy issues, but Uranus helps us release them through a trap door we didn’t know existed.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, so it has a vital need for self-expression. Tapping into this energy ignites your creative ideas, but the shift into Taurus injects them with structure and grit. The combination is about manifestation and following through—it channels your raw talent into real work.

Remember to read your rising sign and your sun sign.

JUMP TO

Aries (March 21–April 19)

Happy Aries season! Last month might have felt like a trial by fire, but you’ve come out the other end renewed and moving at your preferred pace: breakneck. On April 11, the new moon in your sign is an opportunity to cement your fresh identity: what do you want to accomplish in the next six months? For the first time in forever, it feels like the path is clear. But the higher you fly, the easier it is to fall. Watch out for imposter syndrome and people who will make you feel like your success is unearned. Any feelings of inadequacy are just tests to make sure you’ve internalized the lessons of the last six months.

Taurus (April 20–May 20)

You’ve been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work, but in April you finally get to step into the spotlight. The middle of the month is particularly delicious, with Venus throwing a party in your sign starting April 14 and the sun following suit five days later. At the same time, you’ll have to deal with some lingering resentments from a setback or disappointment. An outdated story about who you are— maybe from something a teacher or mentor once said— could crop up and make you want to hide. Pluto is still poking those wounds, but this time around you’ll have a home-court advantage. Naming it will help you take your power back.

Gemini (May 21–June 20)

You’re a friend magnet and this month is an opportunity to harness your powerful network. Aries season already has you excited about what’s next and April 3 will put you in the mood to share your hopes and dreams with your community. Bounce ideas off of the people who have earned the right to hear them. On April 18, they’ll help you clarify your vision. Mid-month might bring out your sensitivity in a way that feels uncomfortable. It’s OK not to always be the life of the party. Your real friends want you to be real with them, warts and all. “No one cares” is a myth. People do care—you just have to let them.

Cancer (June 21–July 22)

You’re leveling up and people are noticing. Even the nurturer of the zodiac has to look out for number one sometimes—this is that time. You might pick up on some resentment from a partner or collaborator this month. Don’t let the naysayers distract you. You’re shining bright for a reason and you deserve to be here. It’s easy to buy into the myth that once you get what you’ve always wanted, things magically fall into place. But new opportunities often bring about self-doubt, worry, and guilt. Know that you deserve it and keep it moving. If you don’t let your successes define you, then the setbacks won’t, either.

Leo (July 23–Aug. 22)

You’re expanding your horizons and taking up space, which is what all Leos are born to do. But it’s so much deeper than being the center of attention—it’s about opening yourself up to new experiences and ideas. When you reimagine what you thought was possible for yourself, it inspires everyone in your orbit to follow suit. Mid-month might bring a speedbump in the form of what-aboutism or worst-case scenario theater. Don’t get mired in the details. You can trust the good feelings. You’re allowed to enjoy the abundance that’s headed your way. Planning will help you feel prepared, but worrying is just taking the wind out of your own sails.

Virgo (Aug. 23–Sept. 21)

April is about healing your relationship to fear. You’re an expert at dissecting other people’s problems and getting to the core of the issue, but how often do you take your own advice? How much time do you spend building protective walls around your vulnerability? What would happen if you spent that energy sitting with it instead? The middle of April might bring up some old shame around being seen, so practice nurturing yourself early in the month. Think of it like a vaccine: giving yourself a little bit of the illness can protect you in the long run. Transformation is hard work and feeling the growing pains is part of the process.

Libra (Sept. 22–Oct. 22)

The last six months have been tough on your relationship, but something finally shakes loose in April. The first two weeks are an opportunity to examine your impulse to chase your desires. What if you were the flame instead of the moth? When Venus enters Taurus on April 14, you can actually get into the weeds to figure out what’s no longer working. So many relationship conflicts are about sorting out what is yours to hold and what is the other person’s to change. Old stories and cycles will resurface in the process, but you’ve been to this rodeo before. This time around it will be much easier to broach the issues that felt taboo before.

Scorpio (Oct. 23–Nov. 21)

April is about coming back to yourself. The first two weeks are a flurry of activity, most of which will be a grind. You might feel like you’re being asked to learn new skills, answer every email, and be an administrative wiz—oh, and make it look easy. Around April 16 the tension between your workload and what you can humanly accomplish will come to a head. Luckily, Venus is giving your collaborations and intimate partnerships a dose of sweetness for the second half of the month. The full moon in your sign on April 26 wants you to pause, catch your breath, and ask yourself what you really want.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

Creative blocks aren’t a sign that you’re a failure—they’re an integral part of the artist’s process. You should mine your life for inspiration, but you also need data from the outside world. Taking a walk is creative. Calling your best friend is creative. Napping is creative. Sometimes these side doors can take the fear and self-doubt out of the equation and trick your mind into filling the void with a brilliant idea. Trust your inherent talent and the rest will follow. On April 14 your routines and workstreams get a blessing from Venus. This is a critical reminder that your body is not a machine, and even machines sometimes overheat and need to rest.

Capricorn (Dec. 22–Jan. 19)

You’ve been doing deep, investigative work. Capricorn is the sign of breaking new ground and laying foundations, and this month you’re ripping up the last floorboards in your house before you build something brand new. April 16 will show you the conflict between who you were and who you’re becoming, but it’s the kind of friction you need to start a fire. The second half of the month is all about integrating what you’ve learned about your identity and sharing it with an open heart. Self-expression is more effortless when you think about channeling energy rather than creating it. The full moon on April 26 will shed some light on the way forward.

Aquarius (Jan. 20–Feb. 18)

April has you buzzing with ideas, conversations, and activities. There’s nothing wrong with being busy, but notice when you’re engaging in distractions to avoid going deep. What are you shoving under the bed—literally and emotionally—so that you don’t have to deal with it? Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Start small, start today, and do a little bit at a time. You might be surprised by the amount of space it was taking up in your brain and how much better you feel when it’s cleared out. When you have a fresh slate to start from and retreat to at the end of the day, you can hear what’s underneath the noise of daily life.

Pisces (Feb. 19–March 20)

Your ability to be there for your community is something to be admired, but check how the group dynamic affects you. Do you feel like you can share what’s really on your mind? Boundaries aren’t just for the toxic people in your life—sometimes you need a break from the organizations that make you abandon yourself. Systems that were designed to be oppressive will always take your power away. Try to cherish and nurture the places where you do have agency. If you feel like you can voice what’s bothering you, do it after April 16 to avoid being misunderstood, but drawing an energetic line in the sand can be just as helpful.
