“Stranger Things”
We are nearly back in the Upside Down as filming for Netflix’s “Stranger Things” continues in Atlanta. Production has been steady throughout August for the third season of the hit sci-fi series, and according to previous casting notices, there will be filming today and tomorrow, Aug. 29, around the city. Heather Taylor at Casting TaylorMade has been busy with background casting, so keep a lookout for more opportunities to join the show, and learn more about how to get cast on “Stranger Things” on Backstage!
“Dynasty”
One of the many reboots and remakes currently in the works is coming to Atlanta this week. The CW TV series “Dynasty” is filming a VIP club scene on Aug. 29 in Norcross, Georgia. The reboot follows the same premise as the original, with two of America’s wealthiest families feuding for control over their fortune and children. Season 2 of the series, which is cast by Sandi Logan, will premiere on Oct. 12.
“Jungle Cruise”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been showing the love on Instagram for his co-stars and the creative team of “Jungle Cruise.” The upcoming Disney feature film, starring Johnson, Emily Blunt, and Jack Whitehall, has been filming for the past few months in Atlanta (mainly at Blackhall Studios East) and continues this week. Previous Backstage notices have scenes with German mercenaries filming Aug. 29–30 into September, so expect more opportunities from casting director Tammy Smith soon!
“Legacies”
Another CW series is also making its way around Georgia this week. “Legacies,” the next chapter of the CW hit series “The Vampire Diaries,” is filming in Conyers on Aug. 31. The production has already called for a scene that will include teachers and students at Salvatore Boarding House. The series, cast by Lesli Gelles-Raymond, is expected to premiere in October 2018.
