Find yourself on Broadway or touring the country as the lead in one of the most popular shows currently on The Great White Way. Blockbuster musical “Dear Evan Hansen” is holding an open casting call for the lead role. The Tony-award winning tuner is gearing up for a national tour and planning for future Broadway dates. It’s an incredible opportunity to join a successful Broadway production, and do so in the leading role.

The titular character is “smart, sincere, and cripplingly self-conscious.” Evan prefers “to hover in the background, a supporting player in his own life, too afraid to step into the spotlight and risk ridicule.” However, a “letter that was never meant to be seen” creates a chance opportunity for Evan to connect with others. This is the rare casting call that’s perfect for both newcomers as well as performers with a lot of professional experience.

Actors must be 17 or older to audition and be comfortable portraying a high school senior. They should be capable of singing tenor in a pop/rock style. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

Tara Rubin Casting will be holding an open casting call in New York City on Feb. 25. Lindsay Levin is representing the company at the CD on the project.

The production is currently open on Broadway, and rehearsals will be in New York City. Those cast in the role will receive an equity production contract.
