Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

New Wes Anderson Film
Even with his highly anticipated “The French Dispatch” still to debut, Wes Anderson continues to stack the deck for his following feature film. Tom Hanks is the latest addition to the movie, joining the previously announced Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, and Swinton. The latter three all starred in “The French Dispatch,” as well, but this marks the first time Hanks will appear in an Anderson production. As we previously reported, the new project is expected to shoot in Spain, and plot details are being kept under wraps. Douglas Aibel is Anderson’s usual casting director.

New “The Exorcist” Trilogy
It’s three times the scares for Universal. As reported last week by The New York Times, the studio has paid $400 million for a new “Exorcist” trilogy for theatrical release and the streaming service Peacock. Ellen Burstyn will reprise her role as Chris MacNeil, and “Hamilton” star Leslie Odom, Jr. will also star as a man who tracks down Burstyn’s character after his child becomes possessed. The first of three planned “Exorcist” movies is expected to debut theatrically on Oct. 13, 2023, with subsequent installments yet to be dated. David Gordon Green (“Halloween”) will direct, and horror haven Blumhouse will produce.

“Sharper”
First reported by Deadline, Marvel leading man Sebastian Stan is set to head to Apple to star in “Sharper,” an Apple Original Film and A24 coproduction. Stan will lead opposite Julianne Moore in the film, in which she will play a con artist. Stan will play Max, “a clever conman known for carrying out complicated plans and making away with large sums of money.” The pic is based on the spec screenplay by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka that Benjamin Caron (“The Crown,” “Sherlock”) will direct from for his feature directorial debut.

“Crossfire”
Over at BBC One, Keeley Hawes will headline the major miniseries “Crossfire,” which will center on a hotel shooting at a luxurious resort in the Canary Islands. Dancing Ledge Productions will team with Hawes’ Buddy Club Productions to produce the three-part series, which is written by Louise Doughty in her first original project for television. (This is the second time Doughty has worked with BBC One, the first an “Apple Tree Yard” adaptation in 2017.) No further casting or production dates have been announced.

“The Saint”
Regé-Jean Page has found his next starring role. Page will star in and executive produce a new reimagined version of the “The Saint” for Paramount Pictures. The project follows Simon Templar, a.k.a. The Saint, “a Robin Hood-esque criminal and thief for hire who goes on a globetrotting adventure.” Plot details on the reimagined story are being kept under wraps, but according to Deadline’s sources, this will be a new take that reimagines the character and world around him. Kwame Kwei-Armah will write the script, and it is currently unclear if Dexter Fletcher will also direct as initially intended.

“Echoes”
First reported by Deadline, the upcoming Netflix psychological thriller limited series “Echoes” has set Matt Bomer as its male lead opposite Michelle Monaghan. The series comes from “13 Reasons Why” showrunner Brian Yorkey and was created and written by Vanessa Gazy. “Echoes” follows identical twins Leni and Gina (both portrayed by Monaghan), who share a dangerous secret: they have secretly swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults, including shared households, husbands, and children. Bomer will play Jack Beck, Leni’s husband. Yorkey serves as executive producer and co-showrunner with Quinton Peeples. Filming is reportedly underway in North Carolina.
