Are you more of a Montague or a Capulet? The Melbourne Shakespeare Company is looking to put together an ensemble of actors for its upcoming production of “Romeo and Juliet.” Plus, a traditional Irish dancer is wanted for ongoing work, and carolers are needed for the holiday season.
“ROMEO AND JULIET”
Pick a side and join the Montagues and Capulets this year. Melbourne Shakespeare Company is looking to put together an ensemble of enthusiastic and hardworking actors, aged 18 and older, for a production of “Romeo and Juliet.” This will be a high-energy, fast-paced production with elements of song and dance. Actors with experience in physical theater and/or commedia dell’arte, as well as actor-musicians, are encouraged to apply. Performances will run from Dec. 7–16 at St. Kilda Botanical Gardens in St. Kilda, Victoria. This will be an unpaid gig. Apply here!
THE SERENADE GUITARIST PERFORMANCES
The Serenade Guitarist is now seeking a female traditional Irish dancer, aged 18–40, for live performances. The act is still in development, but two dancers (the Irish dancer and a contemporary-style dancer) will perform to instrumental, ambient music based on the music of The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, and Coldplay, as well as upbeat Irish and Celtic music. CANTABILE CHOIR HOLIDAY SEASON
Spread Christmas cheer by singing loud for all to hear this holiday season. Cantabile Choir, a professional vocal group that performs a selection of traditional carols and contemporary songs each holiday season, is now seeking highly-trained male singers, aged 18 and older, to join this year's group. Singers must be able to sight-read and harmonize. There will be a mandatory rehearsal on Oct. 21 in Engadine, Sydney, New South Wales. Performances are ongoing in November and December throughout Sydney. Professional pay will be provided at $61–$73.50 per hour. Apply here!
