Australia Now Casting: Play Sophie or The BFG in a Production of the Roald Dahl Classic + More Gigs

Brisbane Arts Theatre is seeking talent for its production of Roald Dahl’s “The BFG,” the story of a young girl and a giant who saves the lives of countless children around the world. A young female actor, aged 8–25, is wanted to play the lead role of Sophie, and a male actor, aged 18 or older, is wanted to play the role of the BFG. There are also ensemble roles for talent, aged 18 or older. There will be an audition by appointment in Paddington. Rehearsals will begin on Jan. 7 in Brisbane, and performances will run from March 15–June 1. This is an unpaid gig. Apply here!

Ignite Collective is casting 10 talented female actors, aged 20–30, to join the collective as ongoing and resident collaborators. Talent will work to develop scripts to be staged at Kings Cross Theatre. Script development begins in March in Sydney, followed by rehearsals from October through December and performances from Dec. 11–22. Members will be paid a profit share. Apply here!

Join the Australian Dance Theatre which is casting its 2019 ADT Youth Ensemble. Young talent, aged 14–20, who can perform at an intermediate or advanced level in contemporary dance are wanted. An intermediate or advanced skill level in classical ballet is also preferred but not mandatory. There will be an audition by appointment in Norwood on Jan. 31. Performances will take place throughout 2019 in Adelaide. This is an unpaid gig. Apply here!
