Washington stars as Troy Maxson, patriarch and tragic hero of Wilson’s drama, alongside Viola Davis as his loyal wife Rose. Both are now in contention for acting honors at this year’s SAG Awards; the actors were also nominated for Golden Globes, with Davis taking home the award for best actress in a supporting role. Also in supporting roles are Stephen McKinley Henderson as Bono, Mykelti Williamson as Gabriel, and Russell Hornsby as Lyons.
