Welcome to Rumorville! Here you can learn about casting news that’s about to break in Hollywood. These speculations might be only rumors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow the trail all the way to the audition room.

“Barbie” is looking for its Ken.

It’s the enduring love story of Barbie meets Ken, and Warner Bros. may have found the man to bring her love interest to life. Ryan Gosling is reportedly in final talks to star opposite Margot Robbie in the Mattel film, with Deadline first to report the news. “Little Woman” and “Lady Bird” filmmaker Greta Gerwig is set to helm the project, which she co-wrote with partner Noah Baumbach. The pair has collaborated plenty of times professionally in the past, from “Frances Ha” to the upcoming Netflix feature “White Noise.” While not much is known about the plot at this time, the film has been fairly long in the making, finally pushing forward with Robbie, Gerwig, and Baumbach’s involvement. According to Variety this past summer, production was scheduled to begin in early 2022 in London with a 2023 theatrical release, but it is unclear if that is still the case. Robbie will also produce on the film via her LuckyChap Entertainment banner (“Promising Young Woman”). A casting director has yet to be made public.
