Billy Zane will be Broadway's new Billy Flynn, the shady lawyer in "Chicago."
Zane, who has appeared in movies such as "The Phantom" and "Titanic," joins the cast of the long-running musical revival on Nov. 8 along with Caroline O'Connor, who will play Velma Kelly. O'Connor starred in the Australian company of the show.
Charlotte d'Amboise will continue in the role of Roxie Hart in the production that opened in 1996 and completes its sixth year on Broadway next month.
The musical will give a special performance Nov. 17 at the Shubert Theatre to celebrate its long run. Expected to attend are many of the past Roxies, Velmas and Billys, including the original stars of the revival, Ann Reinking and Bebe Neuwirth.
"Chicago" has played in 16 countries, including England, Russia, Germany, Japan, Argentina and Mexico, and in more than 250 different cities.
