Is anyone booking?
“Is anyone getting anything from these online submissions? Callbacks, feedback, eggplant emojis, ANYTHING???!!! Jesus be an ECC dance call at Pearl or a mid-sized season audition at Ripley, because these self-tapes—that ain’t it kid! *Rant over, as you were…” —margochanning
Agent question…
“Hey! I was lucky enough to get a referral for multiple agents and two of them got back to me quite quickly. After some meetings, etc., one of them offered to represent me but I like the other one better.
“I had a meeting with the other one last week and he asked me to send him one of my previous auditions. He also said he would send over some scripts for me to self-tape if he liked the audition tape. It's been a few days now and I'm not sure if it would be appropriate to follow up and tell him I got an offer but would still like to sign with him. Would this be unprofessional or seen as rushing him?” —cr0wnedprince
Aspiring actors in California:
“Hello Lovely Folks! My name is Dylan, I’m a 24-year-old Asian man, and like many of you here, I also want to officially start acting (more as a hobby and to learn more about the art). But I just really don’t know how to start—besides sending out applications and headshots. I would love to find new artists, such as myself, and network in order to find out what has and hasn’t worked for you, what are some red flags to look out for before taking a role, where you are on your acting journey, and to just learn more about everyone’s experiences so that we can help guide each other and maybe even work together on a project one day.
“I’m located in California, and I hope to network with everyone who share the same aspirations and passions all across the globe soon! P.S., I’ve applied to a few roles and have actually gotten auditions! Any advice on auditionining would be very much appreciated! Stay Healthy, Stay Safe!” —D_Lion
