Broadway actor James Barbour was arrested yesterday in Los Angeles under sex abuse and sodomy charges filed in New York City, as reported by the New York Post. Barbour has been accused of luring a 19-year-old aspiring actress into performing sex acts since she first visited the City at age 15.
Known for his role in the Broadway musical "Assassins," Barbour met the girl through her high school drama coach in 2001. While visiting New York with her parents, he allegedly offered her a backstage tour and then took the girl to his dressing room where they had a sexual encounter.
The teen came forward with the charges in February. A second sexual encounter allegedly took place with Barbour in his Upper West Side home during a second trip she took to New York alone.
A warrant had been out for Barbour since Apr. 17.
