“Buffy” is once again the chosen one. News broke last month that a “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” sequel series is nearing a pilot order at Hulu with Sarah Michelle Gellar in final talks to return. Excited about the series’ possible return? We’ve rounded up some similar supernatural and vampire-themed gigs casting talent today to get your blood pumping.
“Waltz for Isabelle”
Casting is underway for “Waltz for Isabelle,” a student film set in the late 1800s following Isabelle, a young and beautiful woman who lures a doctor into her mansion in order to feed her husband, an ancient and mysterious vampire. Two white actors, aged 18–50, are wanted for the lead roles of Isabelle and Lucius. The actor playing Lucius must be able to do a Transylvanian accent and be able to play the piano. Talent will work on June 13–15 in Los Angeles County. Pay is $500.

“Crystal Prison”
Join the cast of “Crystal Prison,” a Los Angeles-set supernatural thriller that centers on a cursed cop and the coven of East L.A. witches he aligns with to get free. Actors, aged 18–45, are wanted for various roles, including a lead. Callbacks will take place no later than the third week of March. Filming will take place on May 2–10 in L.A. Pay is $25 per hour for up to seven production days.

“Gloriohio,” Student Film
Casting is underway for “Gloriohio,” a deeply existential lesbian vampire romance feature film that will serve as an MFA thesis project. Three actors of color, aged 24 and older, are wanted for the starring roles of Gloria and the Vampire and a day player priest role. Talent must be fluent in Spanish. There will be sex scenes for the lead roles, but there will be an intimacy coordinator on set and no specific requirements for nudity displayed. Rehearsals will take place in June, followed by filming at the beginning of July in and around Portland, Oregon. Pay is $150 for the day player role and $1,000 for the lead roles.

“Falling Darkly”
Huckabone Films Entertainment is now seeking talent for “Falling Darkly,” a gothic romantic thriller about love, sacrifice, and the torment of the last vampire who has to choose between a murderous life or leaving the woman he loves. Actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted for various roles in the film, including the lead roles of Aurora and Gabriel. Some nudity will be required (no genitalia). There will be a table read ahead of filming, which is scheduled to start in May and take place across 20 days through August in Texas. Pay is $100 per day with meals, copy, and credit provided.

“Maledicta,” Equity Proof of Concept
Join “Maledicta,” a horror short that will be developed into a full-length feature about an ancient sisterhood that is awakened and unleashes a supernatural nightmare where every stranger becomes either prey or vessel for their dark rebirth. Female talent, aged 30–40, is wanted for lead and supporting roles. Filming will take place in April and May in L.A. Pay is $350 per day for one or two days of work with meals provided.
