Off-Broadway play “Buried Child” closes April 3, but there is still a chance to see the show even if you don’t live in New York City.
“Buried Child” will be available to live stream on BroadwayHD tomorrow from the comfort of your own home.
BroadwayHD is an online streaming service that offers shows from Broadway and performances of a similar caliber directly to your screen. “Buried Child” will be viewable on a computer, mobile device, or Apple TV via AirPlay.
Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize–winning play centers on the collapse of traditional household values as one family struggles during the 1970s rural economic downturn.
Scott Elliott directs the New Group’s production with an ensemble featuring Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, Taissa Farmiga, Larry Pine, Rich Sommer, Paul Sparks, and Nat Wolff.
The Off-Broadway production opened at the Pershing Square Signature Center in February.
Shepard won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979 for “Buried Child.” He re-worked the play in 1996 for a two-month Broadway revival, which received five Tony Award nominations including best play. The current Off-Broadway production is the play’s most notable incarnation since the 90s-era revival.
The “Buried Child” live stream begins tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. on BroadwayHD. THIRTEEN Productions is producing with David Horn set to direct.
Visit BroadwayHD to reserve a live stream pass for $9.99. The performance is free for those with an annual subscription to BroadwayHD’s on-demand library.
