Silly Stages is casting its production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted to fill principal and ensemble roles including King Triton. Casting is underway for the short comedy “A New Leash on Life,” which follows a magical talking dog who, after one too many rage-filled outbursts, must talk his owner out of having him put down. The Royal Canadian Theatre Company is seeking talent for its production of the Norm Foster play “Screwball Comedy.” Talent, aged 20–60, is wanted for several principal and ensemble roles. Auditions will be by appointment on April 26 and 27 in Surrey, British Columbia. Rehearsals will run for two weeks starting on Feb. 10, 2020. So Much Drama and Aluna Theatre are casting the world premiere of the play “The Communist Manifesto for Children.” Latina/Hispanic female talent, aged 20–35, is wanted to play the role of Gracie, a bourgeois South American girl. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required as is at least three years of professional experience. There will be auditions by appointment on May 10 and 11 in Toronto.
