“Luckiest Girl Alive”
Luck has found Mila Kunis filming in Ontario this summer: the actor will star in the Netflix and Lionsgate feature mystery drama “Luckiest Girl Alive.” According to Canadian publication Insauga, the Netflix project has most recently been spotted at Whitby’s Trafalgar Castle School, which will likely fill in for the film’s prestigious Brentley School. The movie is based on a best-selling novel by Jessica Knoll about a New York City magazine editor (Kunis) “whose seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when she is forced to relive the truths of a series of shocking incidents from her teenage years.” Filming is scheduled to take place next on private property in Cobourg, where crews are reportedly already set up. It is unclear if Kunis will be part of that filming as the most recent shots of her on set were in Toronto. In addition to starring, she will produce the film under her Orchard Farms Production banner. Mike Barker (“The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Fargo”) is the director, and Knoll wrote the screenplay adaptation from her own novel. Richard Hicks and David Rubin are the casting directors.
