Auditions will be held for excellent teenage dancers who sing for future replacements in the Broadway company production of "Big--The Musical" at the Shubert Theatre. James B. No monitor is required. Auditions will be held at PS #87, Wm. T. Sherman Elementary School, 160 W. 78 St. (between Columbus and Amsterdam Aves.), NYC. Sign-up between 9:30-10:30AM; you must be signed up by 10:30AM at the latest. Typing will be in effect at this audition. Both boys and girls will be typed in or out on age and height. Professional experience is not required for this call. However, dance training is an essential requirement. All teens should be warmed up and ready to dance at the time of the call. Boys should wear clothes comfortable to dance in, with sneakers and/or flat jazz shoes. Girls should wear leotards and tights, and bring flat jazz shoes and sneakers. Bring a contemporary pop or musical theatre song which shows off your singing in either a belt/chest voice or contemporary soprano (for girls). Bring a current photo resume (stapled together), and sheet music for your song. A piano accompanist will be provided. Dancers who are asked to sing must sing their song with piano accompaniment. No one will be allowed to sing with tape recorders or a cappella (without piano). Interracial casting applies to all available roles. An open call for male and female dancers who sing (eligible performers will be seen first) and eligible (only) male and female singers who move, for the tour of "Hello Dolly!" starring Carol Channing, will be held at New Dance Group, 254 W. 47 St., NYC. The national touring company of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," which will resume in September, is holding an audition for eligible female dancers who sing well. Auditions will be held at New Dance Group, 254 W. 47 St., 4th and 5th fls., NYC. Chorus call procedures are in effect. Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance at 10AM. Wear leotards and tights, and bring both flat dance shoes and character shoes with heels. Be prepared to sing an uptempo and a ballad. Prepare music from the Andrew Lloyd Webber repertoire, or from contemporary theatrical or pop music. Bring music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. Bring pix & resumes, stapled together. There will be one or two swing dancers in the company.
