CASTING ALERT: Join the ‘Aladdin’ Broadway or Touring Productions + More Paid NYC Acting Gigs

New York City has all kinds of opportunities for performers of all stripes. This week’s roundup brings together roles for actors, dancers, and singers, as well as long-running gigs including serving as a guide for an underwater adventure. Another great opportunity is to train and serve as a standardized patient. Check out these casting notices you may have missed so you don’t miss out on these great opportunities.

“ALADDIN” BROADWAY AND TOURING PRODUCTIONS
Male and female singers and dancers are wanted for the currently-running Broadway and first national tour companies of “Aladdin.” The productions need male and female singers who dance and male and female dancers who have excellent singing voices for ensemble roles as well as featured roles for possible future replacements. Male and female talent of all ethnicities, aged 18 and older, is wanted. Auditions will take place in New York City on Sept. 26 and 27. “GOTTA GETTA GIRL”
Join the cast of a new musical for a short film adaptation. “Gotta Getta Girl” is in the style of tap-dancing classic MGM musicals. Mikey LaMasa (“That Golden Girls Show”) and Sam Underwood (“Dexter”) are featured performers. Casting is for female talent, aged 20–35, with strong singing and dancing skills to play Debra. This role is for a performer of color. Dance rehearsals run from mid- to late November, and shooting takes place in December. This gig is paid under a SAG-AFTRA Short Film Agreement. “GUITAR CONCERT”
A new film, “Guitar Concert,” is set to shoot in Japan and New York City. The film is currently casting the role of Helen, for Caucasian or Latina/Hispanic female talent, aged 30–47. Performers should be blonde or willing to dye their hair. Shooting is approximately five days in Japan between Sept. 20 and 26, and an additional two days in New York City sometime during the first two weeks of November. The gig pays $500 per day. MORCHAND CENTER TRAINING
The Morchand Center at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System is casting standardized patient actors for doctor training. The Morchand Center has a long history of achieving goals in diversity and inclusiveness. They are seeking transgender, gender non-conforming, and non-binary patients, as well as male patients of color, aged 35–55. Actors will train with the Morchand Center to portray different patients in medical interviews with students. This is an ongoing position and requires a standard background check including medical screening. Union and non-union performers are welcome. DOMESTIC ABUSE EDUCATIONAL VIDEO
An online educational video on domestic abuse is currently casting. This public access video is intended to assist victims and people in situations involving domestic abuse. Two leading roles are open for female performers, aged 25–50, one for Caucasian talent and one for South Asian talent. The two characters are best friends, one of them is a victim of abuse by her boyfriend. Another leading role is open for an African American woman, aged 35–50, to play a social worker. Another role is open for Latino male talent, aged 35–50, to play a father and a victim of abuse staying at a shelter. Shooting takes place for one day between Sept. 17 and 28. The gig pays $500 for each day of shooting. The video is seeking talent from Brooklyn, New York. Apply here!

UNDERSEA ADVENTURE GUIDE
National Geographic is offering an incredible opportunity for ongoing work. Become a guide and take visitors on a simulated undersea adventure across the Pacific Ocean. “National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey” is a “first-of-its-kind immersive entertainment experience.” This is a customer service job that revolves around guests’ engagement, asking open-ended questions and providing answers and generally attending to the guests’ experience. The show is seeking men and women, aged 18 and older, to work as staff and crew. This is an ongoing position with a flexible schedule and hours in NYC. Pay is $15–$18 an hour. Apply here!
