DISNEY’S “THE LION KING”
The Broadway and touring production of Disney’s “The Lion King” are casting young talent for two leading roles. Young Simba is a role for male talent, aged 9–12, that is 5’1”–5’7” tall, has natural talent and charisma, and is able to hold the stage with confidence. Young Nala is a role for female talent, aged 9–12, that is 5’1”–5’7” tall, pretty, has natural talent and confidence, and can belt up to a D. “MASTERCHEF JUNIOR”
The hit reality show MasterChef Junior is casting talent, aged 8–13, for its eighth season. Talent should love to cook or bake, have a solid foundation of cooking skill, a signature dish, and a fun personality. Shooting will take place in Los Angeles for nine weeks, from May through August. “NEWSIES”
A production of the musical “Newsies” is casting male-identifying talent, for the role of Les. Les loves the independent lifestyle of the newsies and is a precocious, charming sales boy. Talent should be near the age of 10 and a strong singer. The production is especially seeking performers of color for this role. This role will be double cast. An Equity Principal Audition is scheduled for Feb. 19 in Chicago, Illinois. Rehearsals will begin Aug. 5 and the show will run from Sept. 4–Oct. 20 in Aurora, Illinois. A theatrical production of “An Inspector Calls” is casting talent, aged 7–12, to play children in the show. Auditions are by appointment on Feb. 16 and 17. Rehearsals and performances will run from Feb. 18–March 10 in Chicago, Illinois. Short film “Churubusco” tells the story of an Italian immigrant that defects from the Union army during the war with Mexico. The production is casting the supporting role of Paco, the clever son of a Mexican farmer who despises the American invaders, for male and female Latinx talent, aged 10–15, that speaks Spanish.
