CASTING ALERT: The Feature Film ‘Palmer’ Starring Justin Timberlake Needs Talent + More Auditions in Texas and the South

There are lots of amazing casting opportunities in Texas and other Southern states this week. The feature film “Palmer” needs young talent to play across from Justin Timberlake. Also, “A Holiday Spectacular” is looking for male vocalists for a December run, the feature film “Deep Water” is casting female talent to play Ben Affleck’s daughter, and more!

A feature film starring Justin Timberlake is seeking male talent, aged 6–10, for a principal role. “Palmer” is about a man in his mid-30s forced to move in with his grandmother after being released from jail who finds himself connecting with a neglected boy he starts babysitting. The film needs talent to play the boy, Sam, whose mother is addicted to meth. Shooting will take place from Nov. 4–Dec. 20 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Talent will most likely be paid SAG scale. The feature film “Deep Water,” directed by Adrian Lyne (“Indecent Proposal”) and starring Ben Affleck, is casting female talent for a supporting role. The production wants white or multiracial talent, aged 5–8, to play the daughter of Ben Affleck’s character. The daughter is a smart, lively, and quirky kid with a Cuban mother. Cultural Arts Center Charleston needs male vocal talent for its fifth annual production of “A Holiday Spectacular.” The show wants experienced talent, aged 21–49, that moves well for light choreography and a cappella sextets, duets, and solos. Rehearsals start on Nov. 16 with a run from Dec. 5–22 in Charleston, SC. Talent will be paid $300–$400 weekly, plus travel and housing. Apply here!

A bank commercial is looking for background talent that is comfortable walking a dog. The spot needs male and female talent, aged 18 and older, to play homeowners and pet owners as well as talent, aged 18 and older, to play cooking school students and customers. Talent playing homeowners and pet owners will film on Oct. 21–22 in Lafayette, LA while talent playing cooking school students and customers will shoot on Oct. 21–23 in New Orlean. The short film “Marshal Dead” is seeking talent for various roles. The film is about a massacre of Comanche by Texas settlers in the year 1858. The film needs Indigenous Peoples male and female talent, aged 25–65, to play Comanche people, male talent, aged 30–40, to play Texas settlers, and male talent, aged 30–40, to play a newspaper reporter. Talent with horseback riding experience preferred for all roles. Shooting is on Nov. 2–3 in Houston, TX. Supporting talent will be paid $125 per day with leads receiving $150 per day. Apply here!

An expo event in Dallas, Texas needs Latinx male or female talent, aged 18–45, to play a game show host. Talent must speak Spanish and English, and will host a “Wheel of Fortune” style game. The feature film “The Myth of Matthew” wants talent, aged 18 and older, for three roles. The film wants white female talent to play the shy and religious Lisa, white male talent to play a macho boss with a Russian accent, and black, Latina, or multiracial female talent to play a stripper Sharon. The role of Sharon does not involve any nudity, but does require pole dancing. Shooting is from Nov. 9–Dec. 15 in Brownsville, San Antonio, Austin, and Boerne, Texas. Roles are paid. Apply here!

The action film “Boom Click Boom” is seeking talent to play supporting and featured roles. The film stars Jason David Frick and Johnny Yong Bosch, both from “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers,” as two ex-marines who must rescue their comrade’s sister from a kidnapping. The film wants male talent, aged 26–49, to play an ex-marine helicopter pilot, female talent, aged 20–35, to play the woman kidnapped, and more. Shooting will take place in Houston, TX in January. A short film for a horror anthology web series is casting talent for two principal roles. “Think I’m Crazy” is about a serial killer on the loose. The production wants white male talent, aged 22–30, to play Johnny, and white, Latina, or Hispanic female talent, aged 21–30, to play Elicia. Johnny will appear shirtless in some scenes while Elicia will appear nude from behind in one scene. Shooting will take place in December in the Austin and Houston, Texas areas.
