Lights up! An upcoming Miami-based production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical “In the Heights” is casting all major roles, including Usnavi, Nina, and more. Plus, an absurdist comedy is casting leads, a feature film is casting day players for a pickup shoot, and a Norwegian Cruise Line production needs singers. 

“IN THE HEIGHTS”
Loxen Productions in association with Miami Stage Company is now casting its upcoming production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical “In the Heights.” Talent, aged 18–70, is wanted to play all principal roles in the production, including the lead roles of Usnavi, Benny, Nina, Vanessa, and more. There will be an open casting call on Oct. 1 in Miami, Florida. Rehearsals will begin in late October and continue through to opening on Jan. 4, 2019. Pay is commensurate with experience and role. “HOTDOG HOMICIDE”
Join the cast of “Hotdog Homicide,” an absurdist comedy about an FBI agent who chases a potential bomb threat in the middle of a hot dog eating competition. A male actor, aged 25–45, is needed to play the lead role of Blair Mitchell. There are also two supporting roles for talent, aged 24–50. Filming will take place from Oct. 5–7 in Los Angeles. “STRANGE GIRL IN A STRANGE LAND”
Appear in a pickup shot for the feature film “Strange Girl in a Strange Land.” Talent, aged 18–54, is wanted for several day player and background roles in the film, including friends, cab drivers, box office attendants, and more. Filming will take place from Sept. 22–25 in New York City. Pay is $100 per day. Apply here!

“SYD NORMAN’S POUR HOUSE”
“Syd Norman's Pour House,” a brand new musical from the original creative team of the Broadway musical “Rock of Ages,” is seeking talent for its Norwegian Cruise Line production. Two male actors and two female actors, aged 21–40, are wanted for the lead roles in the show. Strong improv skills and comedic timing are a necessity. Percussion (tambourine, maracas, etc.) skills are a plus for female performers but not a requirement. One male actor must be able to play acoustic and electric guitar at a proficient level. Actors will travel to Tampa, Florida on Oct. 21, rehearse from Oct. 22–Nov. 3, and board the ship on Nov. 25. Contracts will run for six months. Pay is $1,000 per week. Apply here!
