“S.W.A.T.”
Everybody’s favorite Ellen DeGeneres fill-in, Shemar Moore, is looking to bust some criminals with his next pilot, “S.W.A.T.,” on CBS. The project follows a Special Weapons and Tactics lieutenant who is charged with forming a team that will serve as the last line of defense for Los Angeles. With his loyalty being tested by the streets he grew up on, the commanding officer fights the conflicting feelings of controlling his home territory. If the plot is ringing a bell that’s because the pilot is based on a film with the same name that debuted in 2003. Joining the flak-vested, hour-long drama are Kenny Johnson, whose recent TV death secured his availability, Lina Esco, and Stephanie Sigman. Bialy/Thomas & Associates has assembled actors who start production around March 16. No body double this time as Los Angeles hosts the distinctly L.A.-themed pilot.

“Behind Enemy Lines”
Nestor Carbonell's cold, charcoal star is inbound for Fox’s new pilot, “Behind Enemy Lines.” If that sparks a little déjà vu it should, because this isn’t the first time Hollywood has rebranded a popular franchise. The project is loosely based on the 2001 film of the same name, starring Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman. The drama will follow a group of soldiers who find themselves in enemy territory. As those nearby scramble to organize a rescue mission, comrades in Washington D.C. are also aiming to stay under the enemy’s radar and bring them home safe. Joining Carbonell are Marg Helgenberger, Colm Feore, Melia Kreiling, B.J. Britt, and Gabriel Chavarria. While no exact dates are known, cameras will start rolling on the Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer–cast project this month. Once again, Los Angeles will host the action-packed pilot during its shoot.

“Untitled Navy Seal Pilot/Seal Team 6”
Network executives must have military operations on the mind because CBS is also grabbing a Navy SEAL project for their growing pilot slate. The testosterone-laden series currently includes Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., and A.J. Buckley all reporting for duty. The ensemble drama delves into the lives of the elite Navy SEALs as they endure an extremely rigorous training regime before going on to perform some of the government’s most dangerous operations. While the pilot has alluded to including the most elite unit, Team Six, a group that deals with special types of warfare, there’s no word on if the project will focus on that group alone. Backstage Expert and casting director Risa Bramon Garcia is beefing up the squad of silent soldiers for a yet-to-be-determined March shoot. The humid shores of New Orleans will host the cast and crew during their spring production.
