Before you completely check out for the year, make sure you take note of this week’s events. We’ve got you covered on industry connection-makers, special panels, even an up-close-and-personal visit with the “Stranger Things” set. A couple are a little further in advance to make sure you get access, so consider that a special holiday gift from us to you.

Honor women in media.
Join cinematographer Nancy Schreiber (“Better Things,” “Your Friends and Neighbors”), composer Germaine Franco (“Coco,” “Fargo [T.V.]”), cinematographer Kira Kelly (“Queen Sugar,” “East Los High”), and writer/director Amy Holden Jones (“Indecent Proposal,” “Mystic Pizza”) in conversation at Women in Media’s Holiday Lunch Celebration on Dec. 17. Open to all genders, events include a mixer, panel, and, of course, food, so this inspiring afternoon is well worth admission price. (Tickets: $30-115)

Go behind the scenes of “The Path” with its stars.
Though it’s technically more fitting for next week’s roundup, I’ve got a feeling “The Path’s” season three premiere event at the Paley Center on Dec. 21 will fill up fast. Why? Because its stars—Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, and Hugh Dancy, along with executive producer/creator Jessica Goldberg—will be on hand for a panel following a screening. Don’t miss your chance to glean insight into this uber-popular show about an upstate-New York cultist movement from the folks who make it happen. (Tickets: $30)

Channel your inner “Star Wars” fan.
If you’re stoked about the new “Star Wars” film or just need to get out some holiday frustration in a relatively safe manner, don’t miss Saber Battle L.A. 2017 in Pershing Square on Dec. 15. You can either BYOLS (bring your own lightsaber) or reserve one before the event. If you’ve ever dreamed of battling in a galaxy far, far away on the big screen, this just might be the perfect primer. (Free; $10 for lightsaber reservation)

Become a better background actor.
At one point in your career, you have been or will probably be a background actor. Though these parts aren’t the featured roles, there’s still a skill and an art involved to play them well. Head to Central Casting Los Angeles on Dec. 14 to meet Molly Rodriguez, DGA, who’s worked in television and film for over 20 years on shows ranging from “Dexter” to “Shameless” and beyond. She’ll be sharing nuggets of wisdom that will serve you well throughout your acting journey. (Free)

Get inside Joyce Byers’ living room from “Stranger Things.”
If you haven’t yet been to the Google pop-up store in West Hollywood, it’s a real treat. And right now, it’s even better because you can literally visit the set of “Stranger Things.” Take a selfie with the infamous Christmas-light wall (“R… U… N!”) or just feel what it’s like to immerse yourself in the semi-Upside Down. The shop is open through Dec. 31, but don’t delay on checking out this special event; it’s here for a limited time. (Free)
