Breakdowns do more than provide the details about a job and descriptions of characters you want to play. They give actors a glimpse into what a casting director is looking for in the audition room. As such, having the ability to craft a good breakdown that provides key details (without giving too much away) is incredibly important and an art form in its own right. In this Set the Scene video, award-winning casting director and Backstage Expert Melanie Forchetti gives her best advice on how you should go about writing character breakdowns for important roles in your next project.
