“City on a Hill”
New Yorkers will only be one degree from Kevin Bacon this week as the actor is filming his second season of the Showtime series “City on a Hill.” The crime drama series, which is executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, was renewed for a Season 2 back in August after its first season received favorable reviews. It follows Bacon’s Jackie Rohr, an FBI veteran, and Aldis Hodge’s District Attorney DeCourcy Ward, who form an unlikely alliance in 1990s Boston and take on a family of car robbers from Charlestown during the “Boston Miracle.” Starring with Hodge and Bacon are Jonathan Tucker, Mark O’Brien, and Jimmy Cummings. According to signs in the area, the series is filming on Staten Island along the bay to wrap up this week. “Homeland” casting director Judy Henderson and veteran CD Wendy O’Brien are the show’s casting team— read what Henderson is looking for when she sees actors here at Backstage! And don’t miss an opportunity to appear on the show: the team is now seeking actors for featured background roles, including teen graffiti cleaners, gang members, and N.A. meeting goers.
