It’s no secret that streaming services offer some of the best quality television shows around and in 2018 everywhere you turn, a screen is producing content. Watching episode after episode can make you want to get off the couch and be part of the production you just marathoned. With so many roles out there, you have probably imagined that one or two could have been the perfect one for you. Now’s your chance—we’ve lined up five quality television gigs, with everything from small pilots produced by filmmakers hopeful to sell their pitch to Netflix and Hulu, all the way to an extended miniseries broadcast on China’s second biggest television network.
“LET THE WORLD HEAR (RANG SHI JIE DOU TING JIAN)”
Sky Entertainment Media is now casting two supporting roles in their 50-episode series about youth chasing their dreams through music. A female actor, aged 16–21, is sought to play Natasha, a confident Russian exchange student. A male actor, aged 14–19, is wanted for the role of Kris, a baby-faced French student. Shooting will take place in the fall of 2018 for 150 days total in Paris, France, and China, but auditions will take place in New York City. “SEVEN-SOUTH”
Casting is now underway for a new pilot about a man attending AA meetings. A male lead in a mid-life crisis, aged 35–55, a soccer mom, aged 35–55, an ex-marine addicted to opioids, aged 25–40, and a heroin-addicted college dropout, aged 21–30, are all being cast. The pilot shoots during the first weekend of August in Boston, Massachusetts. Pay is $300 per day for leads and $200 per day for supporting roles. Travel, meals, and lodging are all provided. “DOIN’ TIME”
Join the cast of a new, three-episode show about flunkies attending summer school. Male and female talent, aged 16–28, are wanted to play high schoolers. There are also various open roles for supporting and lead teacher and parent characters over 25 years old. The project is also casting background talent as football team members, teachers, police officers, and more. The pilot will shoot from June 24–28 and July 9–19 in Southington and Plainville, Connecticut. There will be no pay unless the series is picked up, but meals are provided. Apply here!
“DARK COLORS”
“Dark Colors,” a one-hour pilot drama to be pitched to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, or a similar platform, is now casting lead, supporting, and background roles in Los Angeles. A young female actress, aged 6–10, is wanted to play Ava, the central character of the series, who has been sexually assaulted. There will be no depiction of the assault, but it will be in the subject matter. Talent, aged 16–28, is sought to play high school supporting roles, and talent, aged 24–70, is wanted to play various lead and supporting teacher, parent, and neighbor roles. “TILL I COLLAPSE”
Multiple supporting roles, extras, and day players are wanted for a new web series set in Russia. Preferred actors from the midwest will look Slavic and be able to do a Russian accent. Supporting roles for children, aged 5–12, and adults, aged 25–60, are being cast. The project is also looking for background talent to play gogo dancers, soldier types, villagers, and more. Day player roles include an elderly vendor, aged 60 or older, a news anchor, aged 29–48, among others. Shooting dates are currently TBD, and production will take place in Michigan.
