Commercial auditions: currently more video than in-person?
Hey all! So this is going to seem like a silly question BUT anyone who has a commercial agent might be best to help me with this: During this pandemic, are most commercial auditions also being done remotely or via video, like with tv/film/theater?

“Only reason I ask is because I was signed with a commercial agent and was doing very well audition-wise but I live so far outside NYC. With my job, my dad being sick at the time, and the quick turnaround (I’d get an email for an audition and have to be in the very next morning, naturally), I had to drop my agency merely because I could not keep up time-wise or financially with the multiple trips to the city every week.

“However, right now since there is a lot less in-person auditioning in the city, I was considering going back into the commercial agent search and/or contacting my previous agent, if most of what I’d have to do is just put together a quick video from home.

“Within the next couple of months, my girlfriend and I will be living closer to the city (25-minute train ride is a lot cheaper and faster than an 80-minute one) so if things start to get more in-person it might be less of an issue. But for now, I was wondering if it would behoove me to look to getting back into commercials now, or wait a couple months when I’m closer to the city. Any info would be great, thank you!” —SpikeMills

How long did it take to hear about a series regular audition?
I know it varies greatly, and heavily depends on the type of production, budget, etc. But just curious: If you have auditioned for a series regular role for a SAG show, how long did it take you to hear back for a callback?” —Meowforum

Online acting classes?
“Hi! I wanted to start this thread because I’m looking to sell a discounted class credit for Michelle Danner classes. They’re accepting students from anywhere in the world, since it’s online, and have a good variety of classes! If anyone takes their classes and wants the next round for a lower price, I got you! Or if anyone knows of someone looking, I would love the help. I took in-person classes with them in Santa Monica pre-COVID.” —Marley3
