This week’s round-up of auditions in Florida, Atlanta, and the Southeast is full of great and well-paying opportunities for actors. A new film shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, “Honeybun,” is casting actors for leading and supporting roles. A new play by Cuban-American playwright Carmen Palaez is casting actors for a Miami, Florida run. The Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida is casting actors with comedic skills for several of its shows. And two companies need talent for high-paying videos.
“MONSTERS INC.” & “TURTLE TALK WITH CRUSH”
The Walt Disney World Resort is casting comedic improv actors for two shows at the theme park. “Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor” is casting male and female actors, aged 18 and older, with “strong voice characterizations, quick wit, and comedic improv skills.” Actors will need to be able to learn new technology for the role as well. “Turtle Talk with Crush” is casting male actors, aged 18 and older, with strong improv skills to play the semi-scripted role of Crush the Sea Turtle from “Finding Nemo.” Actors must be able to impersonate Crush’s voice from the film. Manual dexterity skills are a plus. Actors will be paid $17.08 per hour under an Equity Disney Contract that includes AEA pension, Equity 401k, and Disney Health. MERCEDES-BENZ LIFESTYLE VIDEO
An online video for Mercedes-Benz is casting three roles. The first is a leading role as an ambitious professional. The part is open for male and female talent, aged 28–38. This role shoots on Dec, 10, 11, and 14. The other two leading roles are open to actors of any ethnicity to play an urban wife and husband. These parts are for a female actor, aged 35–48, and a male actor, aged 38–50, respectively. Shooting for these characters will take place from Dec. 12–14. All shooting takes place in Jacksonville, Florida. Actors will be paid $900 per day and provided meals. Apply here!
“HONEYBUN RUNNER”
An upcoming film is casting actors for leading and supporting roles. The dark dramedy takes place in a reality where athletes are trained and treated like racehorses. The lead role of Honeybun, a veteran track athlete, is for a male actor, aged 28–40. Other roles include The Owner, for a Caucasian or Middle Eastern male or female actor, aged 40–60, who is Honeybun’s owner, The Doctor, for male or female talent, aged 25–40, and The Starter, for male or female talent, aged 30–50. Next Day Air is Honeybun’s competition, a role for a male actor, aged 21–30. Background roles are also available for male and female talent, aged 18–40. “FAKE”
A Miami, Florida production of “Fake” by playwright Carmen Pelaez is casting actors for multiple roles. Pelaez, a prominent Cuban-American theater artist in the Miami area, will also star in the production. The story follows a painting of dubious authenticity and its effect on Camila, an art auctioneer, and her family. Roles are available for several characters, including Camila, for female talent, aged 35–39, Juan for male talent, aged 60–69, who’s a warehouse manager, Margaret, for a female actor, aged 65–69, who is Camila’s boss, and Roman, for male talent, aged 50–59, an art dealer. Rehearsals start on Jan. 2 and run from Jan. 24–Feb. 17. Actors will be paid $479 per week under an Equity SPR Tier 6 Agreement. ALHAMBRA DINNER THEATRE
The Alhambra Dinner Theatre is seeking performers for its 2019 season. Casting is for singer-actors, aged 18 and older, to perform in “Godspell,” “Midlife, The Crisis,” “Big,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” and Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Equity Principal Auditions will take place on Nov. 26 and 27 in Jacksonville, Florida. Rehearsals and performances will also take place there and there is a limited amount of housing available for out-of-town performers. FURNITURE VIDEOS
A furniture company is seeking a host for a series of online videos. The host needs to be confident, move well, and have direct address skills. Previous scripted hosting experience is a plus. The video is seeking female talent, aged 20–45. An “exotic” look, such as an Italian performer, is a plus, although not necessary. Shooting takes place on two 10-hour days between Jan. 7 and 10. “THE BOOK CLUB PLAY”
