Don Cheadle and Steven Soderbergh are teaming up together to produce a new HBO Max project. The new series will showcase the life of one of the first Black millionaires, Jeremiah Hamilton.

“The Other Hamilton”

Don Cheadle and Steven Soderbergh are back to making money moves. The duo will reunite to develop the currently titled “The Other Hamilton,” an HBO Max series about Jeremiah Hamilton, “a Haitian immigrant-turned-Wall Street tycoon who became one of the first Black millionaires in history using questionable – often illegal – methods.” Variety reports that the series, which is based on Shane White’s “Prince of Darkness: The Untold Story of Jeremiah G. Hamilton, Wall Street’s First Black Millionaire,” will come from Carlos Foglia, Ashley Nicole Black, and Keith Josef Adkins. This is the latest in a decades-long partnership between Soderbergh and Cheadle, who have previously worked on “Out of “Sight,” “Traffic,” and the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise, as well as the recent “No Sudden Move” for HBO Max. Soderbergh usually works with Debra Zane as his casting director, but for “No Sudden Move” he worked with Carmen Cuba.
