Two events will be held early next week at Drama Book Shop to celebrate Caffe Cino, one of the early outposts of Off-Off-Broadway in the West Village in the early 1960s.
Some of the playwrights who got their start at Caffe Cino include John Guare, Sam Shepard, and Lanford Wilson.
The first event, United Stages' "Best Plays" Book Party, will be Sunday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. United Stages will release a special edition of Doric Wilson's And He Made Her, which includes a rare live recording of the 1961 premiere.
On Monday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m, the Book Shop will host "Return to Caffe Cino," which will include a few staged readings of short scenes from some of the plays that were performed there.
