With summer around the corner, we’ve got lots of exciting classes, events, auditions, and performances lined up for you to check out. Whether you’re a professional dancer, beginner, or enthusiast, there’s something for you.
Performances
The Joyce Theater will be presenting three can’t-miss performances this June: Rioult Dance NY will perform a world premiere set to ’70s progressive rock music, as well as a re-staging of Pascal Rioult’s 1995 work “Te Deum.” Then L.A. Dance Project will be performing works by Benjamin Millepied, and MOMIX will perform “Opus Cactus,” where Moses Pendleton paints us a landscape of the American southwest.
In June, BAM will host the 15th-anniversary celebration of Marie-Christine Giordano Dance (June 2-3), alongside BalaSole Dance Company. And from June 8-11, 10 Hairy Legs will perform all-male repertory.
Enjoy four choreographers at once with New York Live Art’s Shared Program Performance featuring Armitage Gone! Dance, Buglisi Dance Theater, Elisa Monte Dance, and Jennifer Muller/ The Works.
Whether you’re in the mood for a classic, or something fresh and inventive, American Ballet Theater’s calendar is full this month with “The Golden Cockerel,” “Le Corsaire,” “Swan Lake,” “Onegin,” and “Whipped Cream.”
The Moving Beauty Series will be presenting works by various choreographers this June 6-11 at the Hudson Guild Theater. Choreographers include Annielille Gavino-Kollman, Jessica Warchal-King, Lindsey L. Miller, Gina Montalto, Janice Rosario, Adriana Santoro, Billy Blanken, Aaron McGloin, and Jonathan Breton with Alexandre Balmain.

Auditions
Dance Theater of San Francisco is seeking male and female dancers for the 2017/2018 season. Auditions will be held June 11 at 4 p.m. at Steps on Broadway.
The Moving Architects seeks invested and inquisitive female dancers for projects beginning this summer 2017. The audition will be held on June 11 from 2-6 p.m. at Triskelion Arts.
A male dancer is needed to join the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Auditions will be held June 16 at 8 a.m. with callbacks in the afternoon at Paul Taylor Studios.
APKP Associates, LLC is seeking three ballet-trained dancers to do a can-can dance on Bastille Day in New York City. Check out Backstage for more details!

Triskelion Arts is now accepting applications for the 9th Annual Collaborations in Dance Festival running from November 2-5, 2017. They are particularly seeking movement-based work that collaborates with other mediums of art such as film, music, theater, and visual arts.
Events
On June 5, Gibney Dance will hold Connecting the Dots, a conference aiming to create and encourage collaboration between artists, clinicians, and advocates in regards to intimate partner violence prevention, advocacy, and healing through the arts.
Classes
Vicky Shick will be teaching Tuesdays and Thursdays in June through Movement Research. Learn how to deepen your intuition and understanding of the body through her phrase work and exploration.
Whether you’re in the mood for salsa, ballet, Graham technique, or zumba, Alpha Omega Dance has got you covered with their affordable open dance classes.
