“Spoiler Alert” Has Been Shooting at Multiple Locations in NYC.
“Spoiler Alert,” the new feature from Focus Features and Michael Showalter, is starting at the beginning as filming gets underway in the city. I Love the Upper West Side shared a few shots of stars Jim Parsons and Ben Aldridge filming in the area to wrap up November. Showalter, who’s been busy working on the upcoming Hulu series “The Dropout,” will direct the film, which is based on the book “Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Other Four-Letter Words” by Michael Ausiello and follows the real-life story of Ausiello (played by Parsons) and Kit Cowan (Aldridge), whose relationship takes a tragic turn when Cowan is diagnosed with terminal cancer. According to signs in the area, via Twitter, the film has been shooting at multiple locations in NYC lately, including W. 86th Street and Broadway and 10th Street and 6th Avenue. With Parson and Aldridge stars Sally Field, Josh Pais, and Nikki M. James. David Marshall Grant and Dan Savage are adapting the screenplay. A release date has yet to be announced.
